The MERSES guesthouse started functioning in August 2002. It is built in the most modern way of construction. Nevertheless, it maintains the traditional architectural style of the area. The location on which it is built is the key of its success… its name comes from the homonymous area where it is built. Merses is a Turkish word that means wet place. The MERSES guesthouse consists of 4 studios, a simple two-bedded room and the lounge with the bar. There is also a private parking lot. In the garden of the guesthouse you can admire 85 species of rosebushes. |

In the guesthouse there is also the possibility of food-delivery in the room. The Anatoli (East), Edem (Eden) and Egli (Glamour) studios are provided with living room with fireplace, mini-bar, small multi-cooker, separate heating, television and DVD (one every day), music and telephone. You can also enjoy the water-massage in the bathroom, with essential oils, and the vanilla and lavender scented bathrobes, and the hairdryer and the telephone in the bathroom. The Adonis studio is provided with all of the above, except for the fireplace and the water-massage. |

STUDIOS MERSES is located in Paleo Mikro Chorio (Old Small Village) of Evritania, a few kilometres away from the prefecture capital, Karpenisi. The history of the village goes back to the beginning of the 17th century. The first dwellers were stonemasons. Its original position was at the location called Kalivia, on the south side of the mountain. The contribution of Mikro Chorio to the Revolution in 1821 and to the Resistance in 1945 was total. In 1963, on the 13th of January, after thirteen days of constant rainfall, 2/3 of the village subsided, which resulted in the death of 13 people. Fortunately, because it was Sunday, most of the villagers were in the church and they escaped the horrid destruction. Nevertheless, the destruction was total and in a few minutes one of the most beautiful villages of Evritania vanished. The villagers that survived this dreadful disaster moved 1.5km below and founded Neo Mikro Chorio (New Small Village). |
