Gkoura is located at an elevation of 1050m, on the slopes of Mount Zireia, with unique view of the plateau of Feneos and Mount Helmos. It is about 180km away from Athens and you will reach it by car within 2 hours, about 125km from Patra via Derveni and you will reach it by car within 1.5 hours. It is the seat of Municipality of Feneos, which includes 10 villages: Gkoura, Archea Feneos, Mati, Mesino, Mosia, Panorama, Steno, Ano Tarsos, Kato Tarsos, and Feneos.
From OLVIOS HOTEL and Gkoura you can follow the proposed routes to Ag. Nikolas, Skafidia, the Lake of Trikala and Xilokastro or to Feneos, Helmos, Zarouchla and the Lake Tsivlou. Do not neglect to visit the lake Doxa that is located on the eastern slopes of Helmos, the monastery of Agios Georgios over the lake, the rock of Panagia in the Kato Tarsos and the church of Taxiarches in Gkoura at the centre of the village. |
