Under the shade of the mountain Taygetos, and in the lap of the famous Byzantine Castle Town of Mystras, stands proudly the luxurious guesthouse PYRGOS MYSTRA (TOWER OF MYSTRAS). The imposing mansion of 1850 that was the centre of society of modern Mystras is known in the wider region as PYRGOS MANOUSAKI. The nowadays owners, Charis Chomenidis and Maria Veneti, transformed it into a stately guesthouse, trying to preserve and reveal its seductive beauty and its calming magnetism with absolute respect to the nature and the history of the region. |

The guesthouse consists of two suites, two two-bedded and three three-bedded rooms, where harmony, art, quality, style, peacefulness, daydreaming, symmetry, delight and stateliness dominate. Each room is also an individual, impressive scenery. The precious fabrics and the colours that have been selected for the decoration revive memories from the historic past. At the same time, the nature of Taygetos invades, playing graceful and elegant games on the walls and the roofs. |

The visitor can start from PYRGOS MYSTRA and visit the Castle Town, the archaeological Museum of Mystras, the Byzantine Cathedral of Agios Dimitrios, the archaeological Museum of Sparta, the Koumantareios Picture Gallery of Sparta, the Sainopouleio Theatre as well as the Museum Neolithic Civilization of Diro. You can also enjoy the unique nature of Taygetos in the way you choose. Mountaineering, hiking or even mountain biking. You can also make daylong excursions to the surrounding areas, like Monemvasia with its historic Byzantine churches, the well-known Rock and the house of the great poet, Yiannis Ritsos. Go up to the mountaineering shelter at the location Varvara of Taygetos, visit the Museum of Olive, the climbing park of Lagkada, just beyond the location Tripi, but also the Botanic and Geological Museum in Anavriti. Finally, you can visit the beautiful Mani with the Towers and its Byzantine churches, and also the Caverns of Diro, that are of the most beautiful lake caverns in the world. |
